Resume & Career

Dr. Reinoud Homan specializes in Internal Medicine. He studied at the University Clinic of Vienna, graduating in 1979 as a Doctor of Universal Medicine. His residency began at the Department of Trauma Surgery in Horn. After six months, his desire to be educated in Internal Medicine at Medical University of Vienna Clinic I by Univ. Prof. Deutsch came true. There he was active in several departments (balneology, cardiology, endocrinology, gastroenterology, nuclear medicine, hematology, angiology, infectious diseases and finally as personal assistant to Prof. Deutsch). Dr. Homan’s education at the University Clinic likewise included scientific research, lectures and teaching, while participating at several national and international conventions.

Soon after completing his residency, Dr. Homan decided against continuing his university career. He recognized that his strength lay much more in general diagnosis and treatment of internal diseases, which he could employ at bedside and practicing as a physician. In 1986, he was asked by Prof. Fellinger to join the Rudolfinerhaus private hospital and founded his own practice with patients from group insurance plans and private patients. He has since then treated private patients mainly at Rudolfinerhaus and a private clinic in Döbling.

In 2003 Dr. Homan opened his own practice for statutory health insurance patients in Vienna’s 19th District. In October 2011, he founded a group practice of Internal Medicine, angiology and cardiology with Univ. Prof. Dr. Ali Ahmadi and Univ. Prof. Dr. Martin Schillinger. In addition, Dr. Reinould Homan is an inpatient physician and medical consultant at both Rudolfinerhaus and the Döbling private clinic.

Dr. Reinoud Homan is married and has four children.
He speaks Dutch, English, Spanish and some French.
